This piece is about single parent motherhood, the anxieties of the responsiblities and the changes the female body goes through during pregnancy.

Clutter

when extended families live together, their is a bargain for space. The household items are seldom replaced and they commit to memory and blend in the mind. The space is familiar and the clutter is blanked out. Take a look it is very hard on the eye its not meant to be a pretty piece 

Structural Poverty

This is structural poverty- the salaries of the poor remain at a cap, even the salaries of the educated are low, the design and execution of social programs to assist the poor in trinidad keep them poor.

The house is kept broken down and patched together i gave a view of around the entire house the gates are weak and do not keep structural poverty from affecting what is attempted to be protected inside. The  symbols suggest different forms of hegemony and the foundation is built on structural poverty, this is the home of one of my families.

This absurd figure is made manifest, dwells amoung us, gliding with beauty and elegance. She excudes a guardian like quality mixed with a melancholy temperament. Her life force pulsatesform her translucent veins; as she represents something maternal yet dangerous. She represents the hidden influence which pervades mood.

Layers

The term layers suggest an inward struggle and an ongoing process associated with one's mannerisms and behaviours as manifestations in response to past abject experiences. These experiences informs one's future behavuiural patterns, especially when such patterns act as immunity, to discomfort caused by change.

The line quality of this drawing of a live model explores physical and emotive states of anxiety. By focusing on posture and a busy line quality I hoped to translate her mental dilema of unrest.

The circus( reoccuring dreams ) ten minute sketch

The circus sounds force me up the stairs.
Hurry, hurry to the light for release,
Aroom of new colours, fun , familiar frinds alike,
Wait what is this darkness, insolent ordor, where spirits ignite,
My heart bursting spilling this I cannot bear,
Close my eyes I end up elsewhere,
To ward twelve and thirteen with the near dead inside it,
Something is following me but I cannot find it.

"The age of anxiety". Over the last three decades the world has experienced economic , technological and social changes; heralding a continual advanced material culture. Never before people where able to enjoy more of everything they desired, indulge and understand anything. This has feed the insatiable nature, rising the bar for contentment.
